When user response times suddenly slow down to a crawl, how
do you know where the problem lies and what caused it? In fact, how do quickly
determine whether the problem was caused by the applications themselves, the
application server environment, the host, the database, or external resources?
What's more, how can your organization ensure that the appropriate operational
groups are notified of the situation?
PATH Reliability Expert Alerts is
a powerful application monitoring for Java 2 Platform Enterprise Edition
(J2EE), Apache Web Server, Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) Web
Server, and SAP NetWeaver Portal environments. It automatically alerts
appropriate stakeholders when and where abnormal application performance
conditions arise, and recommends appropriate action for solving the problem.
Detailed actionable alerts will automatically be issued whenever user response
time is affected, when business activities are outside of normal parameters, or
when other atypical situations arise.
With PATH Reliability Expert
Alerts, your organization will be able to easily monitor each and every user
request on your system-and instantly determine which users are affected by any
given situation.
Alerts can be issued via email or pager notification
or through HP OpenView, IBM Tivoli or CA Unicenter. They contain
pertinent information such as what Web pages (URL) or Web Services were being
accessed. For maximum flexibility, your organization can select which types of
alerts are issued to IT operations, which are issued to developers, and which
are issued to the line of business personnel. PATH Reliability Expert
Alerts evaluates application responsiveness by observing business activity,
application performance, and the computing environment that the application is
running in. By monitoring all three aspects of performance, the system provides
insight into how the interaction of business activity, application execution,
and the computing environment affects end-user response times.
The
monitoring provides ongoing graphical visualizations over time of business
activity in relation to its normal pattern, application response time in
relation to its normal pattern, and how the computing environment is running in
relation to its normal pattern.
Alerts Analyzer A powerful
new application now available within PATH Reliability Expert 2.0 is Alerts
Analyzer. This expert analysis application visually correlates user activity
with system performance, enabling faster problem resolution and system-level
root cause analysis. Features include tracking sessions from Web servers to
application servers, correlating one user session to another by cross
referencing the activities they performed, viewing the impact of load
balancing, and more.
